They are the people sitting on the special seat at the front end of the game viewing vehicle. They are predominantly African men and generally have good to exelent tracking experience. They are responsible for seeing tracks and determining whether the tracks are fresh enough to follow. Once tracks are identified as fresh enough then they will leave the vehicle and follow the animal tracks on foot in an attemt to find the animals.

 Interesting facts about Trackers

• Many Trackers visit traditional doctors or locally known as “Wangoma” and pay them to get “special medicine” to assist them in finding animals and to protect them from the animals. It is deeply rooted in African culture and is a complex topic.
• It is not a legal requirement for Trackers to have tracking qualifications but definately hold great advantage when applying for new employment.
• There are not many Trackers is South Africa who attained the highest qualification in their field. many exelent Trackers have not been assesed yet.
