Pseudo conservationists can only fool the uninformed

With cases of misleading publicity and unethical conduct in the safari industry the author initiated this source of disturbing yet accurate information on Wildlife viewing dynamics in South Africa.  We question and bring to light the practice of tourist exploitation. We believe that responsible and informed choices of destinations will allow visitors to be part of true wildlife conservation and not blind-folded sponsors of unethical opportunists. We encourage safari-travelers to educate themselves about the realities of wildlife tourism.

We also strive to promote sound wildlife conservation ethics to reduce cruelty on wild and domestic animals. We are calling on land owners, managers, rangers, safari-guides, and employees of any wildlife-centered establishments to accountability regarding ethical and responsible management of wildlife. 

A true conservationist is characterized by a certain caring attitude towards nature and a lifestyle reflecting responsible ethics. A formal qualification in the field of conservation or being a land-owner of a game-lodge does not automatically qualify someone to be a conservationist and neither does working or guiding inside a game reserve or being employed by a counter-poaching unit. True conservation is often very challenging and causes great animosity. Sadly, there are people owning, working, and living inside wildlife reserves that are not yet conservationists! We plead with people in authority to consider whether their esthablishments and actions are really in favor of the animals or their own personal gain. All images are copyright protected. The moth images are part of a unique collection of moths occurring in the the Greater Kruger National Park area and the wildlife photos were taken over the last 30 years in both National and private game reserves.

• The countless animals which were inhumanely maimed, brutally injured, innocently killed, starved, neglected, and unethically killed by people inside game reserves where they were supposed to be safe.
• The countless visitors who were misled with false and misleading marketing by some safari destinations.
• The many game reserve employees who were treated unfairly and even fired for raising concern over animal cruelty, mismanagement, and unethical conduct in the wildlife industry.
